Great Bruins Win!

Wow! what a hard fought victory for the Bruins tonight pulling it off in the shoot out!  Congrats to the Bruins for a big road win.  Hopefully they can give that type of effort tomorrow on Tampa Bay,  but I could see fatigue being a factor.

Congrats to the AFC East champions.. The New England Patriots!  They rolled over Buffalo on Sunday,  man this team is on a mission!  I cannot see anyone in the AFC beating them, or the NFC for that matter.  Will we see a Atlanta/New England super bowl?  Falcons did lose tonight to the Saints,  so the NFC is up for grabs!  Should make for a great week 17 and the playoffs!

Celtics with a tough loss in Orlando on Christmas day.  They will rebound.  Refs were really bad in that one, I plan on posting a more detailed blog post about that tomorrow.

14 in a row!

Well,  this game was in doubt for quite some time but the Boston Celtics pulled it off!  They go into Christmas with a 14 game winning streak as they face the Orlando Magic on Christmas day.  What a nice holiday gift! 

Bruins face off against Atlanta tomorrow night, hopefully they can get out of their funk and win a game!  Bruins need this one to make this holiday break a happy one!

It is snowing once again in the Boston area,  no snow on Christmas this year but that is ok,  I should be back tomorrow to blog about the Bruins but if not I hope everyone has a merry Christmas!

Quiet Night

Quiet night in sports tonight,  not much going on.  Bruins looked like garbage yesterday, was flat out to depressed to post!

Dallas beat the Heat last night, which I am happy for.  Wish I was in Vegas the Dallas +7 line was crazy! I saw that in the paper and said to myself.. "Easy Money"  But I am no where near Vegas so I was unable to make any type of bet.

Highlight of the night I geuss is Montreal lost..  Will take it any time that happens!

Celtics play the 76ers tomorrow,  might be a good game, the 76ers always play the Celtics tough! Don't worry I will blog about it tomorrow, assuming I am not depressed like last night... :)

Wow!

The Patriots barely held on tonight!  The upset was in the making as Green Bay hung in there all game but Tom Brady and the Patriots scored when they had too, and stopped Green Bat when the defense had too and the Pats pulled off a close victory.  Patriots are now 11-2 and in the drivers seat to make the road to the Super Bowl go thru Foxboro!  Gotta give those boys credit!  Noone really expected them to play this well this season.  Hats off to ya Patriots!

Also tonight was the big WWE PPV Tables, Ladders & Chairs.  Great night of wrestling if you are a wrestling fan.  John Cena took out Wade Barrett and beat him up pretty badly post match.  I do wonder where the Nexus thing will go from here.  Is odd David Utunga was not at the PPV, is something brewing between him and Wade Barrett?  The Miz pulled off a victory tonight against Randy Orton in a good match up.  Gotta love the finish Miz cheating, got caught and still won thanks to Alex Riley.  Edge also won the world title in a 4-way match up.  Kind of thought Edge should of won it 2 or 3 PPVs ago but they dragged it on,  I can see Edge fighting Del Rio at the Rumble.

John Morrison also won his match with Sheamus to get a title shot. Will it be Morrison and Miz at the Rumble in Boston?  I could see Orton thrown in there too because of the finish.  I will be at the Royal Rumble in Boston on Jan 31st and will give reports from the venue. 

It is getting late, I do have some NFL comments but will save those for tomorrow because it is bed time, good night sports fans!

Bruins Win!

The Bruins have finally won one! Wow!  They jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead and I started to see why Washington was win less in their last 7 games.  Of course in typical Bruins fashion they decided to stop playing, Washington scored 1 in the 2nd, and 1 in the 3rd to make it a one goal game.   Thankfully the Bruins held on and got the well needed victory.  I really don't know what is wrong with Washington they are really struggling.  Atlanta has over taken them for 1st place in their division.

As my fans know I was at the game and had a really good time,  hung out at the Sportsdeck and met another of great Bruins fans!  Cheer to everyone I met tonight and hope everyone was able to visit my blog!

In NBA news the Miami Heat have now won 13 games in a row.  Man they are bringing the heat!  Hopefully they get brought back down to earth,  However I could see them rolling in the regular season and then dropping a series in the playoffs,  we can hope right!

Patriots play Green Bay tomorrow and Aaron Rodgers is out!  Good news for Pats fans however I think the Pats would of rolled either way.  Should make for some fun Sunday prime time viewing! The game can be seen on NBC.

Great Weekend

Sorry for not posting yesterday,  Friday plans for in the way.

In NHL action today the Bruins are playing Washington.  Should be a good game,  Washington is really struggling lately so you know they will be fired up for this one.  Bruins lost 3 in a row now.  Both teams need a win, I guess it will come down to who needs it more.  Hopefully the B's start Thomas tonight. 

The Red Sox signed another relief pitcher,  Dan Wheeler,  good pitcher,  helps even more it is another good player they were able to sign away from Tampa Bay,  is this the end of Tampa Bays run?  I could see them falling to 3rd in the AL East.  The Red Sox have gone crazy this year signing free agents and making trades after sitting out the playoffs last season.  I predict they will win the AL East this season with the Yankees right behind them.

Celtics are off today, they play Indiana tomorrow in a afternoon game at TD Garden.

Well its time to enjoy my weekend, will be at the Bruins game tonight to cheer them on.  Everyone enjoy your Saturday!

Thu Night

Well, seems like the same ole thing tonight.  Bruins dropped a 1 goal game, and the Celtics won again!

Tough loss for the Bruins but unlike last night they never had the lead so don't feel to bad about it. . OK I do it is Montreal!!  Blah always sucks to lose to Montreal!  Bruins in a little funk right now, losing 3 in a row.  Hopefully they can snap out of it on Saturday versus the Capitals.  Washington has been stinking the joint up themselves, so hopefully home ice will lead the Bruins to victory!

Celtics once again looked strong, however heart breaking news is that Rondo is out for a couple of weeks because of a ankle injury he got against the Knicks last night.  Hopefully Rondo will hear fast.  Celtics still look good without him as Nate Robinson is looking great but I don't know about you but I rather have Rondo out there!

Pats getting ready for a big game Sunday against Green Bay, should be a great one in Foxboro! Hopefully Tom Brady looks like Tom Brady and the Pats roll.  It is still unknown if Aaron Rodgers will play for Green Bay.  I am sure NBC is pulling for it.

In Red Sox news they signed Jenks from Chicago,  Good pick up should help their bull pen.  Which right now is the weakest part of the team.  Should make for a fun summer of 2011.

50/50 Tonight

Well tonight was a 50/50 in Boston sports,  The Celtics won a nail bitter!  As Paul Pierce gave the Celtics a 2 point lead with .4 of a second left!  However Amare Stoudemire hit a 3-point basket as time expired,  however after review the shot was released after the buzzer sounded giving the Celtics the 2 point win.  The Knicks were winning for most of the game, but the Celtics being the Celtics hung in and over took the Knicks at the end.  The Knicks are the real deal!  They will make the playoffs and give some teams hell!  Look for New York to be the surprise team in the east!  The Celtics return home tomorrow to play Atlanta who always plays the C's tough.  Very well could be another nail bitter on TNT tomorrow @ 8PM!

The Bruins were robbed of a victory last night, tons of bad calls in this one.  Refs called Thornton for interference on Ryan Miller that took a Bruins goal off the board.  I disagree with the call, Miller was way out of the crease, Thornton was just skating by, real bad call!  But there was worse call, with 2 minutes left they called a unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Lucic with the Bruins down one.  Did the refs have $$$ on the Sabers or something? Sure looked that way to me!  Unless there is something major you never call a penalty with under 2 minutes to go in a close game.  Nevermind for something Lucic might of said! Refs need to stay out of that one.  Tough loss for the Bruins, hope they rebound tomorrow against Montreal on NESN at 7PM, should be a good one.

In NBA news the Heat beat the Cavs by 6 points in a close game.  To bad Cleveland could not of pulled it off,  that would of been sweet!  I wish the Cavs the best of luck this season.  I really do..  Did I mention how much I dislike Lebron? :)

Tuesday Update

Hello Fans!

Some NFL news today,  it seems next weeks Vikings/Bears game has been moved to outdoors at TCF Bank Stadium, home of Minnesota University.  Should make for some fun Monday Night Football viewing!  

Cliff Lee is returning to Philly! I cannot think of what teams will be thinking of facing them in the playoffs,  they have Halladay, Lee, Hamels and Oswalt.  Oh boy,  it is not going to be a fun year for NL batters when facing the Phillies this season.

Celtics face the Knicks tomorrow night,  when Paul Pierce was asked about it he responded: "It's a rivalry?" then asked with a big grin. "Man, y'all are letting me in on all the new stuff, all the talk. I didn't know we had a rivalry going."  Knicks have won 8 in a row and it should be a great game at MSG tomorrow night.  Speaking of the game inside sources have confirmed that WWE champion The Mizz will be at the game.  Will be keeping a eye out for him.  Wonder if he will bring his title belt :)  Hopefully the Celtics "Came To Play"

The Bruins are in Buffalo to face the Sabers,  should be a good one,  will be a 2-TV night for sure!  In Bruins news Macro Sturm has passed his physical and is now officially a LA King.  Best of luck to you Macro! Thanks for the memories!! Will never forgot the game winning goal at the winter classic at Fenway! I was there in person for that one.

In other NBA news, The New Jersey Nets agreed to trade Terrence Williams to the Houston Rockets in a three-way deal that will land them Los Angeles Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic and a pair of first-round draft picks, sources confirmed to ESPN.com on Tuesday.  Seems like a decent trade for all teams involved.  Will be weird not seeing Vujacic in a Lakers uniform.

Tonight's Sports

Sorry for the late post tonight,  real life got in the way!

Favre's streak is over!  He sat out tonight's game against the Giants, I guess even the extra day of rest was not enough for him to continue his streak.  Not that it mattered as the Vikings still got crushed by the Giants.  Makes you wonder if this is how Brett will end his career..  Really he should of ended it 2 or 3 seasons ago tho..

Houston almost pulled off a good comeback tonight forcing overtime against Baltimore, but Baltimore pulled it off.  I had such high hopes for the Texans this season but it was just not to be. 

In NBA news Miami and Lebron beat the Hornets in a very good matchup.  The Heat are on fire lately and are playing like everyone predicted they would.  I bet they would love to play the Celtics now! 

Cliff Lee has told Texas and the Yankees they are out of the running for his services.  Wow!  I thought for sure the Yanks would sign him!  They must be livid as they lost all the prized free agents this winter.  It looks like Lee will return to Philly, what a nasty rotation that will be!  I can see the Phillies back in the fall classic in 2011!  Of course anything can happen and that is why they play the games!

Wow!

So the Patriots completely destroyed Chicago!  I did not see that coming!  Snow as on the field at Solider Field in Chicago!  Figured it would be a low scoring affair.. Well I was wrong!  Pats dominated from start to finished to rail over Chicago 36-7!  The last 2 weeks Atlanta has been #1 on the ESPN Power Rankings,  will there be a shift?  Falcons also rolled today 31-10 against a weak Carolina team.

Another big upset today was the Miami Dolphins beating the New York Jets! This just makes the day better for Pats fans!  All together was a great day to sit on the couch and watch some football!  Tonight's Philly/Dallas game should be a good one!  14-7 right before half time,  well time to watch the rest of that one,  hope everyone has a great night!

Mixed night in sports

Last night was a mixed night in sports,  The Celtics pulled off the victory against Charlotte.  The Bruins lost a heart breaker to the Flyers in OT,  but still managed to get a point in the standings.   Also in the news the Metrodome roof has caved in!  The game was first moved to Monday night but now with no home arena what are the Vikings going to do?  Rumor mill has it they will try the play the game in Detroit on Monday night,  That is like the Jets having a home game in Foxboro..  Not going to go over to well :)

Rainy day here in the Boston area today, Patriots play out in Chicago,  should be a good game between two good teams.  I predict the Pats pull it off 24-14!

Quiet Sports Night

Friday was a quiet night in the local sports world.   The Crawford signing became official.  here is some quotes:

"[Epstein] came to Houston and was real genuine that he wanted me," Crawford said.

He said he couldn't ask for a better situation, and Epstein agreed. "He's a game changer and we're excited to have him," Epstein said.   They will be a press conference later today.

Looks like they wanted each other and worked things out!  I am happy for Carl and the Red Sox.

In NBA news the Miami Heat winning streak is up to 7.  They are playing cup cake teams, hopefully they start losing when they face better teams.   Yes like the rest of the US we hate the Heat too here :)

Can the Rangers pull it off?

According to a espn.com report, the Texas Rangers have increased their offer to Cliff Lee.  I assumed in a earlier post that he was on his way to New York.  I may very well be wrong here, would not be the first time!  I hope Texas is able to sign him, as much as I do like the Red Sox,  I am still happy if someone other then NY or Boston makes it to the world series.  I enjoyed last year's series between Texas and San Francisco.  FOX may not of liked the ratings as much, but I thought it was great baseball!  I am pulling for Texas to sign Lee!

Colts Finally Win - The downfall of Tennessee + Moss

The colts finally won another game!  Wow, they been stinking up the join!  They BARELY got by Tennessee who is in really bad shape.  The curse of Moss is still in effect!  No matter where Randy goes they keep losing,  I bet he would give anything up to be back in New England!   Where will Moss end up in 2011?  UFL?  I think the XFL would of been a better fit!  Time to call Vince and restart that one!  Randy Moss and the XFL would be made for each other!

Crawford

So Carl Crawford signed with Boston today!  It seems like the Red Sox want to be like the Yankees and spend tons of money.  Well they always spent tons of money but the Yanks just spent even more,  now they want to even things out!   Well the Yankees want Cliff Lee now, and he will most likely sign within the next couple of days.  Who do you think will win the AL East in 2011?

What do people think about the Bruins?  they won 5-2 tonight going against a weak Islanders team.  The score may look like a blowout but it was not!  2 empty net goals, and a very weak bruin goal because of a bad pass by the Islanders goalie,  The Islanders could of pulled this off!   But the Bruins are on a roll, will they keep it up?
